New ambulances for emergency medical subdivisions of Chisinau

A number of 32 new ambulances of type B arrived in Chisinau from Turkey. These are outfitted with the equipment needed to provide emergency medical assistance at the prehospital stage, in accordance with the European norms. Most of the ambulances will be distributed to the emergency medical assistance subdivisions in the municipality of Chisinau.

Spokeswoman for the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Assistance Center of Diana Blanaru has told IPN that the ambulances are outfitted with patient immobilization, resuscitation, monitoring, defibrillation and diagnosis equipment. It includes an automated external defibrillator, an ultrasound machine and a portable ventilator.

The ambulances are also equipped with an automated injector, potable solution heating system, digital thermometer, dressing kit and other medical devices and consumables.

The Government and the Council of Europe Development Bank signed a lending agreement under which Moldova will get €12 million for purchasing 170 ambulances, 35 of which of type C (intensive care therapy) and 133 ambulances of type B (first aid ambulances).
