During the 2013 session, BAC centers were pupils will take the exams will be equipped with cameras and jamming equipment. The notepads will be personalized with barcodes and the test papers will be scanned. These are some of the new provisions of the new methodology of organization of the 2013 baccalaureate session, approved on December 27, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy Minister of Education Igor Grosu told the press on December 28 that pupils who don’t pass the BAC exams will have the right to try again in the next three main sessions after graduation, which is one attempt more than in previous years. Those with insufficient grades in the main session won’t be allowed to retake the exams in the additional session and will have to wait until next years. The additional session will be organized only for those who won’t be able to be present at the exams in the main session.
Igor Grosu said that notepads will be personalized through barcodes and annexed to the test papers. They will be separated from the paper before the BAC candidates start to solve the test. Pupils will be allowed to see their paper only once in the 48 hours allotted for this procedure.
They will also sign an affidavit confirming that they are aware the insertion of forbidden materials in the exam room will be punished with expelling from the exam, regardless whether the pupil used these materials or not.
BAC centers and national centers of paper evaluation will be equipped with filters for metals, devices for jamming telephony and with cameras. According to the Deputy Minister, the cameras would be used afterwards for the security systems in schools.
About 5 million lei will be allotted for the organization of the session, in addition to 3 million lei for video surveillance and jamming equipment.
The baccalaureate exams will take place between June 4 and 21, 2013.
