New local mayoral elections will be held in the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti on May 20 this year. In its March 12 meeting, the Central Election Commission approved decisions on the availability of the posts of mayor vacated by Dorin Chirtoaca and Renato Usatyi, IPN reports.
The Commission also approved the expenditure estimate for organizing and holding the new local elections in the two municipalities. The costs were assessed at 22.5 million lei. The expenditure estimate will be transmitted to the Government and Parliament for identifying the necessary financial resources.
By previous decisions, the Central Election Commission agreed that new local elections on May 20 will also take place in Pirlita village of Ungheni district, Nemteni and Leuseni villages of Hancesti district, Volovita village of Soroca district and Jora de Mijloc commune of Orhei district.
