The National Army soldiers will have a new marching step during the Independence Day parade on August 27. The new pace is easier, but as nice and is leaned quicker. A sum of 10 million lei was allocated for organizing the parade this year, when it is 20 years of the declaration of Moldova’s independence, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Under the amendments to the instruction regulations of the Armed Forces of Moldova, there will be changed the marching step, movement of the hands and the stand at ease position so that the armed forces personnel learn them easier and consume less energy,” Colonel Oleg Cebotari, deputy chief of the National Army General Staff, told a news conference. According to Oleg Cebotari, the amendments were introduced with the aim of saving time and adjusting the instruction techniques to the advanced armed forces standards of the European states. The new pace will be learned during tow-three weeks, not two months as earlier. Lieutenant Alexandru Iust, commander of the Guard of Honor Platoon, said the new marching pace is simpler and does not imply physical effort. Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta said new uniforms will be made and the necessary equipment prepared with the 10 million lei allocated for the parade. Acting President of Moldova Marian Lupu said the new pace is a European model and is appropriate as it will prevent the soldiers from getting tired. He informed that the national security strategy will be adopted by Parliament by the end of this month. The amendments to the instruction regulations were made after making a comparative analysis of the military regulations of Romania, the UK, Canada and other states. The military parade was also staged in 1999 and 2001.
