“The young people in Moldova tend to develop multilaterally and have an important position in the society. A more systematic development method is required. It can be implemented by the iLeader project, which aims to help the young people develop not only from professional viewpoint, but also form an attitude and behavior,” Cristian Ziliberberg, consultant at the Center for Organizational Consultancy and Training, said during the presentation of the project. The project is implemented by the International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences (AIESEC) Moldova, with the financial assistance of the U.S. Embassy. It aims at strengthening the sentiment of civilian leadership among young people. According to Nicolae Tarlapan, who is in charge of public relations, the project participants are young people aged between 18 and 25 from Moldova, including Transnistria and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, who have leadership experience (are or had been NGO leaders, project coordinators) or young people with potential and motivation to strengthen their leadership skills. iLeader is designed to create a favorable climate for exchanging leadership-related information and experience and to establish cooperation relations between the young Moldovan leaders, who could then contribute towards positive changes in the society. The basic activity of the project is the Forum of Young Leaders that will include training seminars, case studies and workshops on different aspects of leadership and will take place between November 6 and 9. The participants could increase their knowledge and improve their leadership qualities and establish cooperation relations with the members of other NGOs. Pavel Moraru, who is in charge of the agenda and training seminars that will be held as part of the project, says that this is an intense process aimed at educating leaders, which is at the initial stage. Three leadership aspects will be analyzed during four days: the leader from inside me, team leadership and organizational leadership. The project participants will meet and discuss with the Forum invitees, famous persons from the political, business, academic and NGO spheres, including the Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, the Head of Parliament Marian Lupu, the ASEM rector Grigore Belostecinic, representatives of the United Nations Development Program and the U.S. Embassy in Moldova. After the Forum, the participants will be offered the possibility of putting the accumulated knowledge into practice by formulating proposals and implementing initiatives that could bring positive changes in their organizations and communities. The best initiatives will be awarded and supported by AIESEC, while four of the best projects will benefit from financial assistance worth $400 each. AIESEC, the world's largest student organization, is the international platform for young people to discover and develop their potential so as to have a positive impact on society. AIESEC is present in 105 countries and offers the young people a large number of opportunities: internship abroad, participation in national and international conferences, interaction with different cultures, etc.
