Based on numerous requests, an additional train line will be introduced from September to service students who commute from Ungheni to the Romanian city of Iasi, Moldova Railway director Vitalie Struna told Info-Prim Neo. “Now we have a train that leaves at 6:30 and returns at 15:30. From September we are introducing a train that will will depart from Ungheni at 10:30 and will return at around 19:00. We have a lot of requests from students studying in Iasi”, said Vitalie Struna. Struna said the new line will make it possible to establish new connections to remoter cities. In Iasi, travelers will be able to get on trains to Cluj and Timisoara via Suceava. Travelers will be able to book tickets on the Internet. The new rail service will be introduced in the second half of September when university courses start in Romania.
