Pensioners and people with sight deficiencies in Chisinau and Dubasari will receive free glasses and medicines for eyes. The donation was made by the Czech Embassy in Moldova and by the public organization HOMECARE, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the councilor of the Czech Embassy in Moldova Daniela Moyzesova, over the last years Moldova enjoyed a considerable support of €14 million from the Czech Republic. Moldova is the main country that benefits from such support and assistance for development. One of the priorities for assistance is social support for people that need it. “We think this good for Moldova because there are many people whose families are gone abroad and they remained here and need care, perhaps not medical, but social and homecare, which is adequate and works well. This is a success of Moldovan authorities”, declared Moyzesova. The Czech councilor said that this action was unique and there were several projects targeting this segment. In Moldova, there are three centers for elderly people and the building of the fourth one is nearly complete in the north of the country. The goal is to create a network throughout Moldova that would cover the main regions. HOMECARE director Tamara Adasan said that the project will offer glasses for 110 people, some of whom are patients of the National Asylum for Pensioners, while the others are patients at home in Dorotcaia village, Dubasari district. Thanks to donors, the NGO obtained 192 glasses instead of 110, which will be distributed to people who need them most. The public organization HOMECARE is a national non-profit nongovernmental organization, meant to raise public awareness regarding the problems of socially vulnerable people, of elderly and disabled people, of children and other people who lack social protection.
