Number of fire casualties on the rise

Employees of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service go from house to house in villages and warn the people about the dangers posed by the faulty stoves and reckless smoking. The Service’s spokeswoman Dorina Sochirca has told Info-Prim Neo that the increase in the number of persons killed in fires made the firefighters to take additional precautionary measures. The villagers will also receive leaflets containing information about how the fires can be prevented. Posters with the antifire rules will be placed in such public places as mayors’ offices, post offices, banks, and shops. The 110 fires that happened in Moldova so far this year resulted in 26 deaths. One of the victims was a child. Four persons were killed in fires on January 18 alone.
