A doctor of the Oncological Institute of Chisinau was caught in the act of taking an illegal recompense from a patient. According to the denouncer, the oncological surgeon asked and received €300 for performing surgery on the thyroid gland, IPN reports.
The criminal case was started after receiving the complaint from the patient, who informed the National Anticorruption Center about the payment asked illegally by the doctor for the operation. The money was found in the doctor’s office.
The surgeon faces a fine of 200 to 400 conventional units or 120 to 180 hours of community service.
