Only 22 attic-like apartment building projects completed

A number of 22 attic-like apartment building projects hade been finished in 2007 – 2011. Another 27 projects are being implemented. In the period, the General Architecture, Urbanism and Land Relations Division issued 222 urbanism certificates and 161 authorizations for constructing attic-like apartments, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the local authorities, many of the economic entities that received authorizations could not obtain the consent of the dwellers for being able to start the construction works, as the law requires. In other cases, the construction companies did not obey the technical parameters and architectonic aspect of the buildings and are now in litigation. At the suggestion of Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, a working group was set up to work out new regulations on the building of attic-like apartments. The group consists of representatives of the municipal services, district heads’ offices, the State Construction Inspectorate, the State Chancellery, construction companies and of housing stock managers. There will be defined the procedures for obtaining the consent of the dwellers for beginning the works and the parameters concerning the buildings’ architectural value and envisioned the possibility of auctioning the buildings on which attic-like apartments are to be erected.
