The local public administration, education institutions, homes of culture and libraries of Orhei district are on Japanese strike. They ask the central authorities to provide financial assistance for them to be able to pay the higher natural gas rates, IPN reports.
The mayor of Orhei Pavel Verejan and directors of schools and kindergartens of the district in a public event outside the Government Building said that they cannot cope financially and will be unable to pay the heat bills without the involvement of the state. The higher natural gas and heat tariffs were followed by rises in food prices. As a result, the costs incurred for feeding children at school and kindergarten also grew.
The administration of the district and the managers of education institutions of Orhei are sure that the situation is much the same in other districts. They called on their colleagues all over the country to join them in their efforts.
Ala Iacob, director of the kindergarten in Pohărniceni village, said the institution in 2022 has the same budget as in 2021 even if the prices and costs this year are higher.
Eugenia Băleanu, principal of the Brăviceni secondary school, said they do not have money to pay the institution’s bills for gas and cover other costs and they need the assistance of the authorities.
Mayor Pavel Verejanu noted the Japanese strike will continue until Parliament becomes involved and provides solutions to the mentioned problems.
The Japanese strike is made public by tying an armband to the arm of each employee and the work process is not disrupted.
