Orhei district has a new commissioner

Colonel Ion Chicu was appointed as police commissioner of Orhei district by an order signed by Minister of the Interior Alexei Roibu, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Ion Chicu earlier worked as head of the Judicial Police Service.
“The Ministry’s administration took this decision in order to ensure the normal running of the subdivision, to avoid conflicts of interest and remedy the situation at the Orhei Police Commissariat,” it is said in a communiqué from the Ministry of the Interior.
Former Orhei commissioner Oleg Cociug was dismissed on May 2 together with an inspector of the Traffic Police, who is suspected of involvement in the murder of Alexei Veretko, alias Krasavcik, on April 28.
