Over 28,000 tonnes of milk were produced at professional farms in Moldova between July and December 2024. For this quantity, 213 livestock breeders received direct payments from the state budget for each kilogram of milk, IPN reports.
"The subsidies were offered for cow's, sheep's and goat's milk, totaling over 85 million lei," said the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
Direct payments per kilogram of product are granted quarterly to the farmers who own animals, obtain and deliver their own animal products to the collection, processing, slaughtering or marketing units.
