72.1% of Moldovans continue to think that things in the country are moving in the wrong direction, shows the Public Opinion Barometer (BOP) published on Tuesday, November 20. The percentage of respondents who share this opinion dropped insignificantly since the survey in May 2012, while it is 11% lower than in November 2011, when it peaked at 83.5%, Info-Prim Neo reports. The people are largely unhappy with the government’s work in the main domains of social life. 92% are unhappy with their wages, 91% with their jobs and 88% with the standard of life. 87% are unsatisfied by pensions, 86% by the fight against corruption and so on. 33% of people consider that the economic situation didn’t change compared to last year, while 59% think it worsened. The percentage of the latter increased by 12% since the previous BOP. Only 18% are optimistic about the national economy’s prospects next year. 29% think the economic situation will not change, while 38% fear it will get worse. The Public Opinion Barometer was commissioned by the Institute of Public Policies and carried out by the Center for Sociological Investigations and Marketing CBS-AXA between October 30 and November 12 on a sample of 1237 people, with a maximum margin of sampling error of ±2.8%.
