The Cabinet approved a package of laws aimed at improving the work of the National Center for Personal Data Protection, IPN reports.
In parallel with the optimization of the Center and ensuring of its institutional independence, the personnel of the institution will be enlarged and employees’ duties will be extended.
According to the authors, the package of laws is designed to increase the functional and operational capacities of the Center. The authority will be able to swiftly intervene to remove the violations committed by operators and will check the legality of the personal data processing operations performed through systems for managing private individuals’ data. This measure hasn’t been properly regulated so far.
After it is approved by the Government, the package of laws will be submitted to Parliament for examination and adoption.
