Democratic Action Party (PAD) leader Mihai Godea is asking tthe country leaders to lift the veil of secrecy from the internal negotiations within the AIE because of which the director of the Security and Intelligence Service and the chairman of the National Commission of the Financial Market hasn't been appointed and the National Integrity Commission hasn't become functional yet, PAD said in a press statement. Mihai Godea criticized the unjustified delay of the appointment of the Moldovan ambassador in the Russian Federation and said that his impression was that Moldova wouldn’t send a plenipotentiary ambassador to Moscow, but an individual searching for a job in the Russian capital and that was why the selection was made by the Kremlin and not by Chisinau. The PAD leader is unhappy with the Chisinau authorities’ decision to accept the opening of a Russian consulate in Tiraspol. Mihai Godea stressed that three years ago Prime Minister Vlad Filat had declared that by no means a Russian consulate would be opened in the Transnistrian region. Now, Filat finds natural the opening of a Russian consulate in the eastern districts of the country. “It’s normal that the opening of this consulate should not be allowed because Moldova is obliged by international conventions to ensure the safety of any diplomatic mission, while in fact Moldova isn’t able to guarantee even the safety of its own citizens in this region”, explained Mihai Godea. He warned that, de facto, the security of the Russian diplomatic mission in Tiraspol will be assured by the unrecognized Transnistrian authorities and the Moldovan Government would have only a peripheral role by signing and accepting humbly Russia’s authority and recognizing in fact the Transnistrian separatists’ right to have diplomatic relations with Moscow. “The only conclusion is that although we claim we want European integration, we’re actually moving step by step towards the Eurasian Union, importing from there the model of leaders who think of themselves as saviors of the nation and a classified style of ruling with the usual justification that it’s for the good of the country”, stressed Mihai Godea. Mihai Godea is unhappy with the AIE leaders’ new pragmatic stance, who unanimously demand the cancellation of the unification march on September 16, instead of ensuring the peaceful protesters’ right to safety.
