Parliament receives computation equipment from China

Moldova’s legislative body got a grant in the form of 40 computers to the value of about US$78,000 from the Standing Bureau of the Great National Assembly of the People’s Representatives of China. The donated equipment was promised last September, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Speaker Marian Lupu had a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador in Chisinau Tong Mingtao on June 12. The officials stressed that this grant forms part of the steps taken to strengthen the relations between the two states.
Marian Lupu said the equipment will facilitate the lawmakers’ work, underlining that Parliament is making effort to strengthen the strategic partnership with the People’s Republic of China.
Tong Mingtao said that during the 20 years of the establishment of bilateral relations, China offered assistance to Moldova in the form of grain, computation equipment and money. Trade between the two states increases every year.
According to Tong Mingtao, the People’s Republic of China implemented a number of projects in Moldova, including in the IT sector, infrastructure and agriculture. The Chinese people approve of the Moldovan wines more and more and want more Moldovan products to be exported to China.
The ambassador said that 1,200 computers and 220 printers will be donated to the Government of Moldova this year.
