The parliamentary majority did not grant the request of the Communist group to invite Prime Minister Vlad Filat in Parliament to report on the planned Cabinet reshuffle, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We adopted a decision and thus demand that the Premier provide information about the Cabinet reshuffle within 14 days. He must present a report,” said Grigore Petrenco. The proposal was put to the vote, but did not garner the necessary number of votes. The decision to which the MP referred was adopted by the votes of the Communist and Liberal-Democrat lawmakers on October 13. Also then, the legislative body decided to dismiss the director of the Security and Information Service. The Speaker was to initiate the procedure for discharging the prosecutor general and the chairman of the National Financial Market Commission. After a meeting of Liberal-Democrat MPs and ministers on October 25, Vlad Filat told the press that the firing and hiring in the Government will be done after November 18, when the head of state is to be elected. Asked about the Parliament’s decision under which he was to present a report within 14 days, the Premier said the legislature cannot tell him when and how to reshuffle the Cabinet.
