PCRM proposes first central bank governor for President

The executive of the PCRM’s Central Committee decided to field Leonid Talmaci for the post of President of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the party says that lawmakers Iurie Muntean, Maria Postoiko and Anatolie Zagorodnyi were empowered to inform the parliamentary groups about their decision and to discuss it with them. The PCRM calls upon the parliamentary parties to support this compromise candidate so that the deep economic, social and political crisis in Moldova, which is close to a national catastrophe, be overcome. Leonid Talmaci is the first governor of the National Bank of Moldova. He served in 1991-2009.
