The PLDM and PDM agreed to create a new parliamentary majority in Parliament, the Democratic leader Marian Lupu said after the last round of talks held with Vlad Filat on April 22. The Democrats will vote for Vlad Filat as Prime Minister, IPN reports.

Marian Lupu said that the country needs a parliamentary majority. When a new majority is constituted, there will be signed a new government agreement. It is not yet known if the majority will be named the Alliance for European Integration. The list of ministers delegated by the PDM to work on the new Cabinet will be made public by April 25.

“It was a professional discussion. We spoke about the parameters that the new Cabinet must meet. My colleagues will take the decision. I am to meet with the MPs of the Liberal group. We want to know today if the Government will be voted on Thursday,” Vlad Filat said after the meeting with the Democrats.

On April 25, the legislative body is to vote in the new Cabinet and accept the government program. Until now, five Liberals led by Mihai Ghimpu refused to negotiate with Vlad Filat. Four Socialists headed by Igor Dodon said they will not vote for Vlad Filat as Premier. Earlier, the unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea also said that he will not back Filat. The 34 Communist MPs said they do not support the current government.

Vlad Filat needs 51 votes to be invested as Prime Minister. The PLDM has 31 votes, the PDM - 15, while the group of Liberals who detached themselves from Ghimpu – 7. Together it is 53 votes.
