The State Tax Service reports, for the first10 months of this year, 2,284 cases of conducting economic activities without complying with legal regulations, an increase of 18.28% compared to the same period last year. As a result, fines totaling 3.9 million lei were imposed, IPN reports.
The largest share of illicit activities was found in the trade in goods (53.33%), passenger taxi transportation (34.85%) and in the sphere of provision of services (11.82%). Most cases were identified on online platforms.
"The State Tax Service continues to combat illicit economic activities that affect tax compliance and the development of a healthy economic environment. It is essential that all individuals who carry out economic activities properly register them and comply with legal regulations", warns the tax office in a press release.
The Tax Service emphasizes the importance of voluntary compliance and urges all taxpayers to declare their economic activities in order to avoid penalties and to benefit from social protection and pensions.
