PM takes part in meeting of CIS Council of Heads of State and UN Assembly

Prime Minister Pavel Filip is taking part in the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State that is held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on September 16 – 17 and will also attend the 71st regular session of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 19 – 23, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the CIS Heads of State will discuss a series of subjects concerning the organization of work in the Commonwealth of Independent States and its reorganization so that this meets the current necessities in the region, cooperation in economy and culture and intensification of cooperation in the fight against cybercrimes.

Pavel Filip will also have bilateral meetings with Presidents of the CIS member states. The discussions will center on the development of diplomatic relations, diversification of commercial exchanges and promotion of Moldovan traditional products on the markets of the partner states.

Later the Premier will take part in the 71st session of the UN General Assembly that will examine the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by the member states and possibilities of transposing these at national level. The participants will also address the challenges faced by the international society, including terrorism, poverty and peacekeeping at world level.

Pavel Filip will have a series of bilateral meetings to consider possibilities of intensifying diplomatic relations and diversifying cooperation in areas of common interest.
