Policemen investigated for passive corruption

Two police officers of the Rascani police commissariat of Chisinau were arrested by officers of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime (CCCEC) on charges of passive corruption, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Center. According to the denouncer, the policemen asked for €1 500 from him in order to stop the investigation against him. The officers were arrested on Albisoara St in Chisinau. During the arrest, they threw the money on the stairs of the building where one of the policemen lived, but it was found. Legal action was taken against the two over passive corruption. The police officers aged 26 admitted their guilt and are investigated on the outside. The CCCEC so far this year has investigated 35 police officers suspected of different acts of corruption.
