The fifth edition of the Polish Film Days was opened on Thursday evening. The festival will take place at the Gaudeamus Cultural Center in Chisinau during November 17-21 and at the Patria Movie Theater in Balti between November 26 and 28, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We organize many cultural events, but the movie is a special means showing how the country where it was made is like,” Polish Ambassador in Moldova Bogumil Luft said during the inauguration of the festival. “Five movies will be screened in Chisinau the next days. Every year, we bring recent movies. We hope they are the best.” The event was opened by the action drama “Zero”, directed by Pawel Borowski, who won prizes at a number of European festivals, including the Best Film Prize at the Cinematography Festival in Pecs, Hungary, in 2009. The thriller “The bad house” will be shown today, November 18, while “A simple love story” tomorrow. The other movies include the dramatic comedy “The Snow-White and the Bolshevic red” and the drama “Blood from my Blood”, which will close the festival in Chisinau. The movies are subtitled in Romanian. The screening starts at 18.00. Entrance is free of charge. The Polish Film Days are held simultaneously in Chisinau and Bucharest. Only three movies will be shown in Balti: “The bad house” (November 26, 18.00); “Zero” (November 27, 14.00), and “The Snow-White and the Bolshevic red” (November 28, 14.00). The event is organized by the Polish Institute in Bucharest and the Embassy of Poland in Chisinau.
