The Post Offices of Moldova and Romania have signed a cooperation agreement for a five-year period. The document is aimed at ensuring mutual support within international organizations, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the ICT Ministry.

According to Stefan Munteanu, director general of the state-run company “Moldova’s Post Office”, now that the agreement was signed Moldova will benefit from assistance in implementing information technology, namely the e-trade platform.

Director general of the National Company “Romania’s Post Office” Ion Smeeianu said the cooperation at international level is advantageous to both of the sides. “We are neighboring counties and should support each other in Southeastern Europe. This document is a good start in this respect,” he stated.

Partnership relations between the Post Offices of Moldova and Romania were established in 1995, when there was signed the first cooperation agreement in the communications sector.
