Prime Minister Dorin Recean called on the prosecutors to take part in the General Assembly of Prosecutors set for December 22. He described the event as an opportunity to elect for the first time a self-administration body to represent them and ensure the cleaning of the system and correct organization of the prosecution system. Statements to this effect were made at the beginning of the December 21 meeting of the Cabinet, IPN reports.

Premier Recean also had a message for the justice sector. “I see a lot of people agitating and making a lot of efforts to discredit this justice reform effort,” he stated. The official also encouraged the justice minister. “Minister Mihailov, congratulations on what you are doing. The fact that some try to attack you and to discredit your work shows that you are doing exactly the right thing,” he said.

The press recently reported that the husband of Justice Minister Veronica Moraru-Mihailov was previously featured in a corruption case. Commenting on this information, the minister noted that what happened to her husband many, many years ago is a matter of private life. The official denied that he had taken bribes.
