Premier to discuss air transport liberalization and free trade agreement with EU in Brussels

Prime Minister Vlad Filat will pay a working visit to Brussels on February 9. He will meet with the President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, and European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We must prepare for the meeting of the Moldova-EU Cooperation Committee that will take place in Luxemburg on May 5. We have to take important decisions concerning the liberalization of the air transport, the negotiations on the free trade agreement, the implementation of the plan of action on the liberalization of the visa regime,” Vlad Filat said on February 7. He also said that he wants the European authorities to know what's happening in Moldova in detail. “The European Parliament plays a very important role, including in ratifying a number of agreements on EU microfinance assistance that are to be signed. We started to collect the necessary documents,” Vlad Filat sated. The Premier also said that in the near future he will go to Moscow to discuss the actions in a number of areas of prime importance. He will meet with his counterpart Vladimir Putin. “February will be a month of preparations for March, which will be full of events. We invited officials to Chisinau and they will start to come in March,” he said. Vlad Filat will return from Belgium on February 10.
