The President of Moldova Nicolae Timofti on November 6 invited the parliamentary groups to consultations for designing a candidate for premiership. Holding such consultations is a condition stipulated in the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
The consultations will take place at the State Residence located at 23 Nicolae Iorga St on November 9, starting at 11am.
The Republic of Moldova does not have a Government after the Cabinet led by Valeriu Strelet was dismissed by the votes of the Socialist, Communist and Democratic MPs. It’s not yet known if a parliamentary coalition for electing a new Government was formed. The Lib-Dems announced that they will not take part in the negotiations. The Democrats have discussions with the Communists, who are not yet accepted by the Liberals and the unaffiliated MPs of the group of Iurie Leanca.
