The mandatory health insurance policy in the form of percentage contribution from the salary and other remunerations for the next year is set at 9%, 4.5% of which is the contribution of the employers and 4.5% is the contribution of the insured person, IPN reports, quoting the draft mandatory health insurance funds law for 2017 approved by the Government.
The price of the mandatory health insurance policy in fixed sum remains at the same level as this year – 4,056 lei. The possibility of paying only 50% of the price of the policy during the first three months of the year, by April 1, 2017, will be kept. The persons who cultivate farmland will benefit from a 75% reduction in the period.
Minister of Health Ruxanda Glavan said the number of persons who will purchase health policies in 2017 is expected to be higher, of about 50,000, as opposed to 48,300 this year.
The revenues of the mandatory health insurance funds in 2017 were projected at 6 141 657 lei, an increase of 5.2% on 2016. The spending will come to 6 234 451 lei, while the deficit will be 92 793 lei.
A sum of 522.4 million lei was earmarked for covering the cost of compensated drugs, a 4% increase on 2016. The list of such drugs was extended from 87 to 134 by other amendments approved by the Government.
