The police caught a 48-year-old man who 14 years ago escaped from Penitentiary No. 14 situated in Basarabeasca. He was arrested in Stefan Voda district, where he had his domicile, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Department of Penitentiary Institutions, in 1993 the man got seven years for theft. Less than a year before the end of his sentence, he escaped. The man was taken to the Stefan-Voda Police Inspectorate. He faced three years in jail for escape.
