PSD to mount new protests in Chisinau’s central square

The Social Democratic Party (PSD) on November 19 will stage a protest in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau against the authorities’ inaction to the cartel agreements of the monopolists that dictate the prices on the food, drugs and fuel markets. It intends to collect signatures from the protesters, which will be attached to a complaint that will be sent to court, Info-Prim Neo reports. PSD chairman Victor Shelin told a news conference on Friday that the protest will be peaceful, as last Saturday. The rally will involve residents of such towns as Balti, Soroca, Orhei, Hancesti, Comrat and of other settlements. “There will be set up special places where representatives of the Legal Bureau will help the participants in the protest to write challenges, demanding that the existing tariffs be annulled and that new tariffs be set. The applications will be sent to the Chisinau Court of Appeals,” said Victor Shelin. According to him, the PSD can ask the court to review the tariffs without the people’s signatures, but these signatures will convince the court that the given problem affects a large part of the pupation. The protest is set to start at 11.00. The Communist Party also plans to stage protests in front of the Government Building on Saturday. It will protest against the ruling alliance. The hour has not been yet announced.
