The Chisinau Municipal Council will organize public debates centering on the situation of the Chisinau Urban Bus Park, which will involve economic entities and national and foreign experts, IPN reports.
The local councilors of the Communist faction criticized the managerial skills of the park’s director Iacob Capcelea and proposed dismissing him. About €80-90 million is allocated annually to the company from the municipal budget and the situation becomes more and more difficult.
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that a loan of €10 million should be taken out to purchase new buses. Another solution is to cede the company or to attract foreign investors that will bring new buses.
The mayor informed that only two of the 25 bus routes in Chisinau generate incomes.
