Public transport in Chisinau and Bălți suspended on weekend

The public transport in the municipalities of Chisinau and Bălți will not run on April 11 and 12, as it was decided by the Commission for Exceptional Situations, IPN reports.

By the same decision, the period during which ticket conductors will not work in public passenger transport in the municipalities of Chisinau and Bălți was extended until April 24.

As of March 28, the municipal public transport (trolleybuses and buses) have run under a special regime, free of charge.

A state of emergency was declared in Moldova for 60 days on March 17. The detected infections with COVID-19 total 1,174 at present. As many as 28 deaths associated with the novel coronavirus, four of which in the Transnistrian region, have been recorded in Moldova so far. The casualties include three doctors.
