Twenty rescuers of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Services intervened on Sf. Andrei St in Rascani district of Chisinau to perform works to decontaminate a road section near a building that was contaminated with a radioactive substance.
The Service’s press officer Liliana Puscasu has told IPN that the rescuers, outfitted with special costumes, are removing the ground contaminated with the radioactive substance as it poses a threat to people’s health.
The police are working on the scene. The road section was isolated and closed for people.
