The deadline for registration for the Municipal Festival of Volunteers was extended. Individual volunteers or team coordinators who have not yet managed to submit their application can do so until December 9, IPN reports.
Volunteers, volunteer coordinators, noncommercial organizations, public institutions, institutions hosting volunteering activities, private/commercial bodies and initiative groups that practice and promote the culture of volunteering in the municipality of Chisinau are eligible for participation in the contest.
"If you contributed to the development of your community – supporting education, promoting culture, helping vulnerable groups, protecting the environment or getting involved in other social projects – now you have the chance to be recognized for your efforts," said the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport.
During the competition, the volunteers of the year in education and training, in art and culture, in the social and community fields, in environmental and animal protection, the volunteer of the year in sports, as well as the volunteer coordinator of the year will be awarded.
Likewise, outstanding volunteering projects that have had a significant impact on the local community, addressing social, environmental or educational issues, will be awarded in the section "Volunteering project of the year – impact initiatives".
Organizations that facilitated volunteering activities and created significant opportunities for the community can try their luck by applying in the section "Bodies that implement volunteering activities – pillars of change".
The candidate shall submit the file to the email address fmv.chisinau@gmail.com, by indicating the section in which they want to contend. The winners decided by the judging committee will receive cash prizes, honorary diplomas and gifts provided by the event's partners at an Awards Gala on December 15.
