The leader of the Political Party “Our Party” Renato Usatyi considers the presidential elections in Moldova will not take place. If the elections are yet held, a candidate on behalf of the “Our Party” will compete in the second round of voting. Renato Usatyi refused to give names, noting that the candidate will be a surprise. The politician made such statements in a news conference on March 28, IPN reports.
Renato Usatyi stated that the first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc will not allow a person who the next day would call on the police to take the side of the people to be elected as Head of State. As to the unionist march staged in Chisinau on March 27, the politician said such events are aimed at destroying the Republic of Moldova as a state and this march was also an attempt to prevent Moldova from having ever a President.
Asked by the journalists who he will support Igor Dodon or Maia Sandu, who would compete in the second round of the presidential elections according to polls, the leader of the “Our Party” avoided giving an answer. He referred only to the leader of the Party of Socialists, saying Igor Dodon dreams of becoming Head of State and nobody has the right to deprive him of this dream.
In another development, Renato Usatyi said that there are two types of parties in Moldova – pro-Western and pro-Eastern – but there should be only pro-Moldova parties.
