A Map of the Reunified Romania was laid out in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral in Chisinau on December 1. The event was staged by the Civic Movement “Moldova’s Youth” on the occasion of the National Day of Romania, IPN reports.
The map contains the slogan “Romania and the Republic of Moldova reunited in 2018”. One of the organizers of the event, the Civic Movement’s head Anatol Ursu said the laying out of the Map of the Reunified Romania is homage rendered to the past and to the Romanians everywhere. “This Union that took place in 1918 was a breath of fresh air for the territory between the Nistru and Prut. If it hadn’t occurred, we would have witnessed here a civil war and mass deportations, as it happened during the time of the Soviet Empire,” Anatol Ursu stated for IPN.
The event involved volunteers of the Civic Movement “Moldova’s Youth” and residents of Chisinau.
The Map of the Reunified Romania is about 500 square meters in area. There is the image of Ruler Stephan the Great and the tricolor depicted on it.
A number of events were staged in Chisinau today to celebrate Romania’s National Day or Great Union Day.
