The Romanian Language Day will be marked in Brussels by a campaign to promote Romanian language courses in the local metro. The campaign will last for two weeks and is organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute (RCI) in Brussels, together with another four European cultural institutes of the EUNIC Brussels network, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the RCI in Brussels.
Advertisements will be put on metro and tramway lines in Brussels and are based on two local passions: the bicycle and the cartoons.
The RCI in Brussels initiated Romanian language courses for foreigners in 2010. In 2013, 20 of the 36 persons who attended the courses received diplomas for four of the six levels of the Common European Framework of Reference, from beginners to advanced students. The admission session for the 2013-2014 university year already started.
It is for the first time that the Romanian Language Day is celebrated also on the right bank of the Prut River on August 31.
