For teachers without a degree, the fixed part of the salary was raised from 8,568 lei in 2024 to 9,200 lei in 2025. Together with performance and specific bonuses, it reaches 10,780 lei. Thus, the increase varies between 632 and 758 lei per month, which is an increase of 7.4% to 7.6%.

Teachers with the first degree will also benefit from increases. The fixed part of the salary starts at 12,675 lei in 2025 and reaches 14,950 lei, with an increase between 1,646 and 1,975 lei per month, which means an increase of 14.9% – 15.2%.
For teachers with a higher degree, the fixed part of the salary will vary between 14,250 and 16,840 lei, up 13.4% – 13.6% or 1,680-2,016 lei per month.
Teachers who hold managerial degrees will also benefit from important salary increases. The bonuses for managerial degrees will be significantly raised: the increase for the second degree will be from 300 lei to 1,000 lei, for the first - from 600 lei to 1,500 lei, for the higher grade - from 1,000 lei to 2,000 lei.
Currently, there are 1,374 people holding managerial degrees, of which 1,083 have the second degree, 221 have the first degree and 70 hold the higher degree. About 77% of teachers and 53% of kindergarten educators hold teaching degrees, which means that almost 30,000 education sector employees will benefit from these salary increases.
There will also be an increase in the salary class of mythologists and teachers of music in kindergartens, from class 52 to class 56. "These measures to increase salaries are a follow-up to the Government's policy to support the education sector. In 2024, a 15% increase in the reference value of teachers' salaries was applied, and these measures will contribute to strengthening performance in education," said Minister of Education Dan Perciun.
The salaries are calculated taking into account the length of service, and the increases are applied depending on the teaching degree and the seniority of teachers. Teachers with 2-5 years of seniority will benefit from lower increases, while those with 10-15 years and over 20 years of experience will enjoy significant increases.
