The salaries of teacher aides and of kindergarten and school cooks will be augmented starting next year. The salary increases will vary between 360 and 536 lei per month, IPN reports.
"These increases are a first step towards the proper recognition and remuneration of their daily work. We understand that it is not a very large amount, but based on the existing budget, we will make these increases for the cooks and nannies, "said the Secretary General of the Government, Andrei Spînu, at a press conference.
At the same press conference, the executive secretary general announced about the "Ten for children" action plan, whereby authorities intend to make amendments to the Contravention Code and the Criminal Code to toughen sanctions for violating the rules on nutrition in kindergartens and schools. It is also envisaged to adjust the model menu, for example by offering more drinking water instead of juices.
