A scandal made the headlines in Moldovan football. The game between Olimpia Balti and Nistru Otaci, played during matchday 10 of the National Division on Sunday, September 25, was stopped on 75 minutes.
Serghei Chiseliov, the chairman of Olimpia, was unhappy with the refereeing and withdrew his team from the pitch. Nistru were leading 2-1 at that moment. The Balti side now risks a fine and a technical defeat (3-0). The final decision will be taken by the Competition and Disciplinary Committee of the Moldovan Football federation.
League leaders Sheriff Tiraspol failed to grab a victory against visitors Academia UTM. Benjamin Balima’s 11th goal of the season earned Sheriff only a 1-1 draw.
Dacia Chisinau reduced the gap behind Sheriff to just one point after a 2-0 win over Milsami Ursidos Orhei.
