School fair in central Chisinau to open Friday

The traditional school fair held in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral opens on August 19. As last year, it will be mounted on the alley on Pushkin St, in the area between Stefan cel Mare Blvd. and Columna St, and near the Triumphal Arch. The fair will close on September 4, Info-Prim Neo reports. In Monday’s meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, Vladimir Nirca, head of the General Trade, Public Food and Services Division, said the fair will involve about 350 companies, including four national producers. “They will sell footwear, clothes, bags, supplies and everything the students need at school,” he said. Similar fairs will be set up in the other districts of Chisinau as well. A honey fair will be staged in the central park on the occasion of the Beekeepers’ Day, between August 19 and 21.
