A man was fined 5,000 lei and banned from driving for a period of 90 days after he was travelling in traffic at a speed of 235 km/h, IPN reports.
The driver is 26 years old and is from Orhei. Traffic officers caught him driving at 235 km/h on the R-6 route, near Stăuceni.
As many as 127 speed-related road accidents have been reported in the Republic of Moldova so far this year. They resulted in 17 deaths and 152 people injured.
