Olesea Stamate was excluded from the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS). The decision was taken by the party's National Permanent Bureau and announced by the leader of the PAS, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu. The PAS parliamentary group asks Olesa Stamate to vacate the seat of MP. Grosu accuses Stamate of "using it to create a flawed process," IPN reports.

"We must immediately stop the possibility of resorting to abuse based on legislative loopholes. In today's sitting of Parliament, we will vote an interpretation law that would exclude the possibility of benefiting from two options simultaneously - commutation of the sentence to amnesty and release on parole according to art. 91 of the Criminal Code," said Igor Grosu.

According to the official, the introduced rule stipulates that a detainee sentenced to life imprisonment cannot first obtain commutation from life imprisonment to 30-year imprisonment and then release on parole according to Article 91 of the Criminal Code.

It happens after the criminal leader Alexandru Sinigur was recently released from prison in accordance with Article 91. Subsequently, he was arrested by law enforcement officers in another case. Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced that the authorities opened an investigation to determine whether Alexandr Sinigur was set free due to legal loopholes or to abuses.

Contacted by IPN for a comment, Olesea Stamate did not respond to the phone calls.

Recently, the MP said: "It is regrettable the way they try to attack me and my close friends. However, it is not the first and probably will not be the las time. It is obvious that we are close to the start of the election campaign and such attacks will yet intensify.”
