Students to get bigger scholarships

The students' scholarships will be 15% bigger, the Cabinet decided on Wednesday. As from January 1 , the scholarships will grow 20%, and from September 1, 2009, by other 30%, Info- Prim Neo reports.
“By September, the students' scholarships will be vary from 380 to 510 lei in vocational schools, and from 510 to 655 lei in universities,” Education Minister Larisa Savga specifies.
The students studying in agricultural, pedagogical and medical faculties will receive even 40% more.
The students from poor families will get 10 % more than the average scholarship.
The state will need 4 million lei to cover these expenditures in 2008, and 40 milion lei in 2009.
