The Swedish government has unveiled its 19th aid package worth about 1.5 billion euros, IPN reports.
The aid package constitutes about 900 thousand euros for the purchase of weapons, including ammunition and air defense, and about 500 thousand euros earmarked for several funds and coalitions procuring equipment for Ukraine, a press release issued by the Stockholm executive said.
At the same time, the Swedish Armed Forces will send machine guns, small-caliber ammunition, practice weapons and ambulances to Ukraine.
"With this aid package, Sweden demonstrates that more can be done for Ukraine. The package will be of great help to Ukrainian society, the armed forces and Ukraine's defense industry," said Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson.
EU diplomats recently proposed doubling military aid to Ukraine to €40bn this year.
