The Government approved the draft strategy for developing the vocational-technical education for 2013-2017. Minister of Education Maia Sandu said that the quality of education will be improved by optimizing the use of the financial resources allocated for the purpose and by creating and implementing the quality ensuring system. Until 2017, there will be created a functional entity for assessing and accrediting the institutions from this system, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A goal of the strategy is to ensure the adjustment of the curricula to the National Qualifications Framework. The skills of the teachers and the access to vocational-technical education will be improved so that the number of students rises by 10%.
Under the strategy, the vocational-technical education will be organized in two levels – the secondary vocational-technical education, and the post-secondary vocational-technical education.
The strategy will be implemented with the assistance of the private sector. There are envisioned methods of creating partnerships with them. The strategy implementation costs will be covered from the state budget and from international programs and projects as well as from the savings made in the process of rationalizing schools.
