Three-month-old rushed to hospital with severe burns

A house in Putinesti village of Floresti district Wednesday caught fire from a domestic appliance, most probably the TV set. There were two children in the room when the fire started. A girl aged three months suffered first-, second- and third-degree burns. Liliana Puscasu, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the little girl was left in the care of her elder brother. Their mother was busy with the housework. The fire destroyed property inside the room. The girl received burns on the arms and face. She was admitted to the intensive therapy section of the district hospital and was then taken to the surgical ward of the Mother and Child Center in Chisinau. The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns the persons looking after small children to be vigilant and not to leave them without supervision and to observe the anti-fire rules. The 762 fires that happened in Moldova so far this year resulted in 71 deaths. Two of the victims were children.
