Three people died and five others were injured in an accident that occurred on Monday morning in Cluj County in Romania. The victims were traveling by a minibus registered in the Republic of Moldova, which collided with a truck, IPN reports.
According to ziarulclujean.ro, the accident happened on the DN1 C road, close to Câțcău, at around 06.00 a.m. Firefighters, police officers and ambulances travelled to the scene. Three of the victims were stuck inside the minibus. The woman and the two men could not be saved.
Five other minibus passengers, including a child aged about one year, were transported to the hospital. The quoted source reported that all the people on the minibus are from the Republic of Moldova.
The first data show that the driver of the minibus fell asleep and the vehicle moved to the wrong direction. The impact occurred at a dangerous turn, where the minibus collided with a truck driven by a 52-year-old man from Mureș County.
Contacted by IPN for details, representatives of the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that they are in the process of collecting information and will come back with an answer.
