The Chisinau Electric Transport Company put a trolleybus of a new model into circulation. The company’s head Gheorghe Morgoci said the trolleybus will be tested on all the municipal routes. This week, it will transport passengers on route No. 22, IPN reports.
A trolleybus costs over €165,000. They are being assembled by the Chisinau Electric Transport Company with the participation of specialists of the Belarusian trolleybus factory. They have ventilation systems, while the driver’s cab has a board computer and air conditioning. The new trolleybuses have a capacity of 105 places - 30 passengers seated and 75 standing. There is also room for two persons in wheelchair.
A number of 144 trolleybuses produced in the last three years are running on the streets of Chisinau, which is 50% of the trolleybuses owned by the Chisinau Electric Transport Company. Eight more trolleybuses will be assembled by this yearend.
